Phenomenology included in MAAS Psychiatric Examination

Phenomenologists at the University of Heidelberg supervised by Thomas Fuchs and Alfons Crijnen at work these days on the general phenomenological interview in mental health in the room where Karl Jaspers wrote his ‘General Psychopathology’ in 1913.

Achievements in phenomenological psychiatry to be included in MAAS MI due to a grant by the Dutch Foundation for Psychiatry & Philosophy.

Recently, we started with the German translation of MAAS MI complementing the versions in English and Dutch.

The translation in German will be phased out in three parts:

  • MAAS MI General Practice will be translated from English into German
  • Once the MAAS MI Mental Health will be revised while taking into account the achievements in phenomenological psychiatry, the revised version will be translated into German
  • Once the main instruments are translated, we will decide on how to proceed on the remaining texts.
